William Shatner, best known as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, has been rushed to hospital following a medical emergency at his Los Angeles home. The 94-year-old actor reportedly called paramedics after experiencing blood sugar issues.

According to sources close to the Hollywood legend, Shatner is now “doing good” and “resting comfortably.” An ambulance from the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to his residence as a precaution, TMZ reported.

Shatner has previously been candid about his health struggles. In 2024, he revealed he was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, an advanced form of skin cancer that can spread aggressively. The actor explained that he had first noticed a lump under his right ear. His family doctor initially dismissed it, advising him to massage and monitor it. Further investigation confirmed it was cancer, and he later underwent surgery to have it removed.

Beyond his cancer battle, Shatner has also lived with permanent tinnitus since 1967, when he was exposed to a special effects explosion while filming Star Trek. The condition has remained with him throughout his long career.

Despite these challenges, the Canadian-born actor continues to be an enduring figure in entertainment, admired by generations of fans. His latest health scare highlights both his resilience and the concern his global fan base still feels for the man who defined one of science fiction’s most iconic roles.
