Flood-affected communities in north-west Queensland are set to receive a significant $38 million funding boost from both the Australian and Queensland governments. Disaster Recovery Grants and Support
Flood recovery Queensland,the lion’s share of the $38 million will be allocated to primary producers in the affected areas through Disaster Recovery Grants. With grants of up to $75,000 available, the funding will help farmers in Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Croydon, Flinders, McKinlay, Richmond, and Winton Shires. Additionally, upfront payments of $10,000 will be provided to assist with immediate recovery needs.
Cloncurry Airport and Critical Infrastructure Repairs
Flood recovery Queensland,an important part of the recovery plan includes $11.5 million dedicated to repairs at Cloncurry Airport. This will improve the airport’s flood resilience and capacity to accommodate larger aircraft, which is vital for the transportation of goods and services.
